Maureen A. Maratta, 87 passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 17, 2021. She was a daughter of the late John and Viola (Iannucci) Pezzullo; beloved wife of the late Gelardo “Jerry” Maratta; loving mother of Paul Maratta and his companion Robin Clark, Michelle Isabella and her husband Paul Sr., and Maureen Borino and her companion Kevin Notch; sister of Carol Zona and the late Thomas Pezzullo, Rose Rao, and John Pezzullo; cherished grandmother of Paul Jr., Paul G., Alexander, Steven, Justin, and Meghan; great-grandmother of Jackson and Emma; and aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Her loving smile will be sorely missed but the legacy she leaves behind is the importance of family.
She loved making pizza every Saturday for her grandchildren. They learned from her at a young age the value of spending time together and also to appreciate good food. She loved Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and would usually be tuned into the Lifetime Movie Channel for a good mystery in the afternoon hours.
Her family dedicated their lives the last four years to her during her illness. They provided her with good food, company and laughter throughout this time. She was tended to dearly by her daughter in law, Donna, during the last few months of her life.
She will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, Providence followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
