

Maureen A. (Desmarais) Nichols, 68, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020, after a long-term illness, in the presence of her family. She was the beloved wife of Robert P. Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols recently celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, Maureen was the daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine (Leamy) Desmarais.
Maureen was a CNA and was privately employed as a medical assistant, until her retirement.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Kerri Maluk and her husband Eric Maluk of Coventry, Robert Nichols and his wife Elly Nichols of Las Vegas, Katie Nichols and her husband Christian Lamothe of Warwick, and Brian Nichols of Warwick, grandchildren Madison Nichols, Tyler Nichols, and Taylor Maluk, a sister Kathleen Trudell, brothers Joseph Desmarais, and James Desmarais, many nieces and nephews, and her sweet dog Abby. She was the sister of the late Robert Desmarais, William Desmarais, and Charlotte Brooks and “Mumma” to her beloved Ozzie of 17 years.
Maureen loved spending time with her children and husband, music, dancing, and her pets. After having four kids Maureen was a finalist in the “Mrs. Rhode Island” pageant. She could make you laugh and did anything for her children.
Visitation on Monday, from 4 – 7 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, at 10 am in St. Paul Church, 30 Warwick Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private.
