Milton Nachbar, age 90, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Greenville Health Center. He was the loving husband of Rona (Namerow) Nachbar, with whom he shared sixty two years of marriage.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nathan and Bessie (Arons) Nachbar, and father of the late Stephanie (Nachbar) Rainey.
Milton earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College (now Bryant University) and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Nachbar was a teacher in the Business Department at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School for many years before retiring. A long-time member of Temple Beth-El and it's Brotherhood, Milton was the producer of the cable television show, Access Rhode Island (A.R.I.), sponsored by the Brotherhood.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three granddaughters, Rachel, Elayna and Rebecca; a son-in-law, Neal Rainey and his wife Alyssa and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sylvia Penn, Evelyn Rose, Isadore, Robert, Leon and Howard Nachbar.
His funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Temple Beth-El, 70 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Lincoln Park Cemetery. Immediately following the burial the family will receive visitors at Temple Beth-El.
