Myto was born on April 10, 1976 in Gonaives, Haiti, the third child of Pauline and Clermont Edouard. The family immigrated to the United States when Myto was 12 years old. Here, he attended Oliver Hazard Perry Middle School, Central High School and Textron Chamber of Commerce Academy before graduating Johnson and Wales University with a culinary degree.
Myto’s two life passions where basketball and the culinary arts. He played basketball whenever he could at parks and even put a milk crate on a telephone post in front of his house to practice. He played for different travel teams, including briefly the Anthony Avenue Church basketball team. After high school, he discovered his love of cooking and the way it brought happiness to others. He worked in restaurants like Chili’s before making a career of working at assisted living facilities like Atria Harborhill.
Myto is survived by his son, Isaiah Joseph, his ex-wife, Kristen, his mother, Pauline, his siblings, Jorcely, Derick, Kerlange and her husband Erick, Frantz and his wife Emeline, Chantale and her husband Losner, Guerdine, Alaine and Francky. His Nieces and nephews, Richard, Djordjinio, Erica, Carlin, Blandine, Terrence, Richardo, Joslinda, Markens, Francesca, Naomie, Sarah Faith, Elijah, Benjamin and Samuel. His cousins and relatives from the Jean-Louis, Mercedat, Joseph, Edouard, Desir, and Pierre-Canel families.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Ocean State Baptist Church located at 600 Douglas Pike Smithfield, RI 02917. A short viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. with the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Graveside burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence.
