Born in Providence a son of the late Ernest and Anna Marie (Ferrante) Albanesa. Nicholas was a beloved husband to the late Jacqueline M. Albanesa (Tondreault). Father of Nicholas B. Albanesa, Jr., and Carolyn J. Bassett and her husband Steven. Brother of Joyce DiCarlo.
Nick was a Family Man! His beloved wife, who was his soul mate, and his children were his world.
He had a special bond with his Son in Law, Steven. They were very much alike, having a comedic lightness with each other. Steven was more like another son and a protector for his daughter. Steven has a wonderful family that always embraced Nick with heartfelt kindness.
He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. One of five children, his love for his nephews - Michael, Eric and Jason Ray, Travis Smith, Ernie, Scott and Joel Albanesa and his nieces, the late Joyce Smith, Deana Henebury, and Gina Swanson was immense. He loved each and every one of them with his whole heart and was always a guiding force.
His cousin, Joe Aglione, was like a brother to him. Their bond was everlasting.
He was predeceased by three out of four of his beloved siblings. Ernest Jr, Beverly, and Billy were extremely close to him prior to their death. Joyce, his youngest sibling, was his last connection to their parents. He was proud to call her his sister.
In addition, He cherished the lifelong relationship he had with Jo-Ann House and Peter Tondreault, his sister in-law and brother in-law, and their children, William and Cindy House, Jeremy, Matthew, Lauren and Rachel Tondreault also had a forever place in his heart.
Nick was one of a kind, a jack of all trades! A forever business man, Nick’s early years were selling fruit! Nick’s Fruits and Meats, and the Mello Peach man were times we talk about often.
In 1984, after graduating with an associate degree in business from CCRI, Nick decided to obtain his Real Estate License. This was a 40-year profession that was his passion. He taught his daughter everything she knows about the business and they worked side by side for almost 11 years.
He was an avid car man! An educated and self-taught mechanic, Nick could be seen under the hood of most of everyone’s cars fixing something or another. His prized 1969 FORD XL that he restored recently was all about who he was.
In his younger years, Nick also enjoyed cooking, and eating all the yummy food he made. He was happy to be entertaining at his yearly 4th of July BBQ, having the clam cakes ready and the doughboys frying. There was usually more food than needed, full bellies (including his) and lots of family love and laughs!
If you knew him, you knew how amazing he was! There is no doubt that he said it like it was, lived a happy life, and he loved fiercely! He never gave up, especially on those he loved.
Visitation for Nicholas will be held on Tuesday from 4pm – 7pm.
Nick's Funeral will be on Wednesday 9:30am – 10:15am from the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Followed by a service and burial in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
