ProvidenceNurys Medina, 74, passed away on May 3, 2017, surrounded by her devoted family. Born in Santo Domingo, the capital city of her native Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of Francisco Medina and Luz Peguero. Nurys had been employed as a Nurse's Aide for the Providence Ambulatory Healthcare Foundation providing health care for all citizens of Providence.She is survived by her son, Alfred Jimenez, her daughter, Nurys Cooley, a brother, Jarvis Franca, a sister, Arelis Peguero, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.Nurys' visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 - 6 pm in the Russell J. Boyle Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Relatives and Friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church, 244 Smith St. Providence. Burial services will be held in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd. Providence.
