Oscar Morgan, 100, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday evening at home. He was the husband of Rosetta Lee for over 50 years.Born in Shelby, North Carolina, he was the son of Walt and Ola Morgan.Oscar served his country proudly during World War II with the United States Army.He worked as a porter for the former Rhode Island Medical Center for over thirty years.Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Walter, Herbie and George Morgan, Howard, Emmett, Eddie, and James Lee, Shirley Bridges, and Gracie Upchurch; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Vivian Lee and Robert Lee, and brother of the late Clifford Morgan and Lucille Hughes.Funeral with visitation will held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 10:00am with a funeral service at 11:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
