Married to her loving husband Charles W. (Charlie) Hodgkins for 56 years, was predeceased by her parents Albert H. Sr. and Mildred A. (Neary) Thornton and her beloved son Kyle C. After graduating from Johnston High School, she started her working career with the Providence Gas Company. Later after her children were in school, she worked at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence as a computer specialist where she retired after 21 years. Other than her love of animals, she loved nothing more than playing golf at courses throughout Rhode Island and elsewhere as well as taking cruises and traveling with her husband. Always the practical joker, she had no problem dropping water filled balloons from an upper deck of a cruise ship to poor unsuspecting souls sitting below or putting a rubber spider on a plate at a restaurant and after calling the waitress over would have the spider jump on the poor unsuspecting server. We will all miss her sense of humor.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday 9 – 10 AM in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 4th Street, North Providence. Inurnment will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
