

CRANSTON - ORMOND, Patricia M., 72, of Sachem Drive, died Monday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William J. Ormond. They had been married for 47 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kiernan) McGowan, she had lived in Cranston for the past 40 years. Mrs. Ormond was a graduate of St. Pius School and later St. Mary Academy, Broadway. She had worked as an operator for several years for the former New England Telephone Company. She later worked as a bus monitor for the City of Cranston School Department, retiring in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Ann Church, and was active in many church activities and ministries over the past 40 years. She leaves four children, Margaret A. "Peg" Ormond of East Taunton, MA, Daniel G. Ormond and his wife Jacqueline, Diane M. Macera and her husband John, and Patricia A. Sova and her husband Michael all of Cranston. Her passions were her four children and her eight grand-treasures; Daniel, Brendan and Joshua Macera, Bridget, Sean, and Kailey Sova, and Daniel and Michael Ormond. Her funeral will be Thursday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 10am in St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston St., Cranston, RI 02920 in her memory will be greatly appreciated.
