He was the father of Robert Refino and his wife Rebekah, Felicia Almagno and her husband John; brother of Elizabeth Resendes; cherished grandfather of Giuliana Shanley, Giana Refino, Seth Refino and Ava Almagno.
Paul Refino dedicated his working years to serving the people of North Providence, faithfully answering the call as both a firefighter and cardiac technician. He held the distinction of being the first cardiac technician for the Town of North Providence, a role that reflected both his commitment to helping others and his dedication to the community he served.
For Paul, this work was more than simply a profession—it reflected the kind of man he was. He cared deeply for others and was always willing to step forward when someone needed help. Retiring as Captain, in his many years of service, Paul gave his time, strength, and compassion to the people of North Providence, leaving behind a legacy of service that his family and community can forever be proud of.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
