

Born in Adams, MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Theresa (Avery) Wells.
Paul was an operating partner in the Pocasset Garage Mobil Service Station at the corner of Rt. 5 and 6 in Johnston for many years, retiring in 1979. He was also a decorated WW II Navy veteran where he was a Chief Petty Officer serving in Pearl Harbor, the Island of Letey and seeing combat during the invasion of Okinawa aboard the Mine Sweeper “Parrakeet” YMS 434. He was the recipient of many medals including WW II Victory, Navy Good Conduct and the American Campaign. He was a proud member of the VFW for 50 years and charter member of “The Greatest Generation” who helped defend our country during the war.
He was the uncle of Sandra M. O’Neil, Roseann M. DeSemone and the late Arlene DeSemone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston.
