Peter Mento

Born in Providence, a son of the late Gioacchino and Giuseppa (Giglio) Mento, he had been the husband of the late Stella (Ricapito) Mento.

Peter worked as a laborer for the Capaldi Corporation, retiring in 1972, and had been a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America - Local 271.

He was the father of Josephine Meleo and her husband John of North Providence, and Jack P. Mento and his wife Ann of Smithfield; grandfather of 2 granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren; brother of Angelo Mento, Gioacchino “Jack” Mento Jr., Antonio Mento, Genoveffa Corio and the late Angela DeCarlo, Angelica Popolo, Josephine Africo, Joseph and Carmelo Mento.

Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
