
ProvidencePhilip M. McGee, 74, formerly of Hilary Drive, died peacefully Monday at the Tockwotton Home. He was the husband of the late Elaine F. (Alianiello) McGee. Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph P. McGee, Sr. and Claire (Norton) McGee, he lived in Providence most of his life. Phil also maintained a summer residence in Bonnet Shores, Narragansett, for many years. As a young man Phil was involved in his family business, the former McGee Parking Corporation, in Downtown Providence, as well as Claremont Realty Company, for several years. Later, he became a well known salesman for the former Criss Cadillac Company for many years before retiring. He was a graduate of Worcester Academy and Providence College. Phil served on the Board of Directors for many organizations, including the Donley Rehabilitation Center, Providence Port Authority, and the Providence Off Street Parking Commission. He was a member of The Dunes Club, Narragansett, Sons of Irish Kings, Providence College and Worcester Academy Alumni Associations. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Phil leaves his beloved daughters, Jennifer E. McGee, of Washington, D.C., and Penelope "Penny" Savitz, and her husband, Andrew W. Savitz, of Chestnut Hill, MA. He was the devoted grandfather, "Poppy" to his three loving grandchildren, Noah, Zuzzie, and Harry Savitz. He also leaves a brother, Richard McGee of Fairfield, Maine. He was a brother of the late Michaela McGee and Joseph P. McGee, Jr. The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday, 5 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland 20852 in his memory will be appreciated.
