Born in Providence, he was a son of Carmela (Darzio) Gervais and the late Edward Gervais; husband of Donna (Pastina) Gervais for 34 years; father of Michael Gervais, Alicia Jackvony and husband Vincent Jr.; grandfather of Gracyn and Maddox Jackvony; brother of Edward Gervais Jr.
Mr. Gervais served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and had worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a devoted NY Yankees and horse racing fan, and had a genuine love for animals.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Tuesday, 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, 305 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Donations to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915 would be appreciated.
