

ProvidenceRalph E. Lennon, 86, of River Avenue, died peacefully Tuesday at Cherry Hill Manor. He was the former husband of the late Carol M. (Doonan) Lennon. Born in Providence, a son of the late John J. and Marjorie C. (McCabe) Lennon, he was a lifelong resident of Providence. Ralph was well known in the community to keep a keen eye on neighborhood activities, and city politics. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WW II. Ralph was a Supervisor in the Heavy Storage Department for Narragansett Electric Company for forty years, retiring in 1984. Ralph leaves three sons, Ralph E. Lennon, Jr., Joseph L. Lennon, (Ret P.P.D.), and Robert J. Lennon; a daughter, Kathleen Lennon Warhurst; a brother, Reverend Joseph L. Lennon, O.P.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late John J. Lennon and Mary E. Lennon, and brother of the late Bernard T., Frederick M., James E., Robert J., John J., Marjorie D., and Mary M. Lennon.A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, at 10:00 am, in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements by Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home.
