Ralph J. Merola

Ralph Merola, 77, of Lincoln, RI, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Michelle (LeJeune) Merola for 51 years. He also leaves his granddaughter, Madison Merola, who has resided with Ralph and Michelle.

Born in Cranston on July 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Ralph M. Merola and Angela (Marro) Merola. He grew up in Cranston and resided in Lincoln, Rhode Island, for the past 41 years.

He leaves behind two sons, Jeff Merola and Charles “Chuck” Merola and his wife Renee Merola; along with four additional grandchildren, Téa Lopez and her husband, Michael, Olivia Merola, Ryan Merola and Elliot Merola; and three great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of Michael Merola and was predeceased by his brothers, Jack Merola and Joseph Merola. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Ralph proudly served for six years in the Army National Guard.

Ralph dedicated 58 years to his career as a sales representative for Providence Lacquer, where his life's work was defined by his loyalty to his company and to the customers he served.

His greatest joy was time spent with his family, along with golfing and a good cigar. Ralph was always someone you could count on, in any situation. He had a quiet kindness about him, always ready to help anyone in need, and he never looked for recognition or thanks in return. Anyone who had the chance to meet Ralph came away loving him.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 13, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
