

Born February 26th, 1947 in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Caroline M. (Walaska) Major.
Raymond served Rhode Island communities for 50 years as the owner of Ray’s Laundry and Cleaners on Manton Avenue in Providence. Ray was known as a benevolent gentleman and hardworking individual who loved to fish and provide for his family. He was also an avid member of both the Providence Fraternity Order of Police (FOP) and the Smithfield Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Rose. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son, John V. Casey and his wife, Gail; three grandchildren, Tiffany Casey, Anthony Santos, and Justen Dutra; two great grandchildren, Zackary Santos and Alyana Santos; two sisters-in-law, Karen Casey and Cheryl Casey; including many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Campbell, Brad Campbell, Anthony Santos, and Justen Dutra.
Visitation will be 8 – 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8th in Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home located at 331 Smith Street in Providence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8th in Blessed Sacrament Church located at 179 Academy Avenue in Providence.
Burial will be private.
