On August 18, 2018, Raymond P. Pingitore, age 81 went to be with the love of his life, Peggy, in heaven. Ray leaves behind a daughter, Denise Pepper of Cranston, Raymond J. Pingitore (ret.Det. JPD) of Johnston and Michael Pingitore and his wife Angela of Johnston; his only granddaughter and pride and joy, Jenna Rae Pingitore and her fiancé Tyler Trott of Providence, his grandson and best friend Nicolas Pepper and his wife Nicole of Johnston, grandson and main man, Michael D. Pepper of Cranston and his grandson and buddy Matthew Pingitore of Johnston; his great grandsons Nathan and Noah Pepper of Johnston and pet of 17 years, companion and confident, Peanut.
Ray was the son of the late Guiseppe and Rosaria (Fusaro) Pingitore. He is survived by his brother Joseph Pingitore, Jr. of Johnston and sister, Eileen St. Angelo of Cranston. He was preceded in death by his brothers Pasquale, Ernest, Dante and Edward Pingitore and sisters Christina Amedeo, Cecelia Scicilione and Dorothy Pingitore. Ray also leaves behind his brothers and sisters in law Eddie and Pat Rayburn and Tom and Deb Loftus of West Chester, PA. He leaves many nephews and nieces who were a special part of his life.
Ray was a carpenter and Army Veteran which he spoke about often with great fondness and pride. He was a “true patriot”. He was a selfless man who put others before himself. He will be missed by his friends at Brewed Awakening, lifelong friends from Regent Avenue Park in Providence and the gang at Friday night cards.
He was often seen driving around town in his 1966 Mustang convertible.
Ray’s family would like to thank his care team at Miriam Hospital.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike, Scituate. Burial with Military Honors to follow in the R.I. Veteran Cemetery. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4-7 pm.
