Reva (Angel) Stern, 86, passed away February 3, 2018. She was the wife of the late Dr. Leo Stern. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Minnie (Kaplan) Angel.
Reva was the beloved mother of Dr. Joel Stern and his fiancée Michelle Bong, Karen Stern, Lisa Stern and her husband James Brochin, and Alan Stern; sister of Dr. Aubie Angel and his wife Esther-Rose; sister-in-law of Germaine Angel; grandmother of Jacob and Minna Hammarstrom, and Samuel and Ethan Brochin. She was also the sister of the late Don Angel.
Mrs. Stern earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Manitoba and her Masters Degree from Brown University. She was an instructor in continuing education at RISD and a member of Temple Emanu-El.
Her funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Avenue, Providence, RI 02906.
