

Richard J. “Rick” Brown, 57, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Hope Hospice Care surrounded by his loving family. He was the former husband of Carole Bourke Brown.
Born in Providence, he was a son of Mary Anne (Seddon) Brown and the late Robert D. Brown.
Rick worked as a Pipefitter for Local 51 for 30 years before retiring. He originally belonged to Pipefitters Local 476 before merging with Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 51.
In his spare time he coached little league baseball in North Kingstown from 2011-2016 while his boys were players. He was a big fantasy baseball enthusiast, and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
He leaves three sons, Vincent G. Church and his wife Kaila, Richard J. Brown, Jr., and Daniel J. Brown; a sister, Sue Leilani “Lani” Baris and her husband, Joseph (Ret. PFD Captain and Ret. Chief WWFD) a brother; Robert D. Brown, Jr. (Sgt. Capitol Police & Ret Sgt PPD) and his wife Debra; a granddaughter, Alainn Church; and his loving friend, Mary Rogers.
The funeral will begin on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 9:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, 124 Legris Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
