Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Viola (Rezoski) Gemma. He had been the husband of Shirley A. (Pitassi) Gemma for 53 years.
Mr. Gemma was the co-owner of Gem-La Jewelry.
He was the father of Kenneth Gemma, Donna M. Gemma and the late Richard E. Gemma, Jr.; grandfather of 7; brother of Hilda Gemma, Arlene Fiorio and the late Joseph Gemma, Jr.
