Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Hugh A. and Mildred (Laughlin) Quinn.
Richard served his country proudly as a sailor in the US Navy. He was employed by Bird and Son Inc. and then the Roger Williams Medical Center many years before retiring five years ago.
Richard is survived by a son, Richard P. Quinn, Ret Capt. Cumberland Police Dept. (Pamela), two daughters, Kathleen H. Byrne (Michael), and Nancy Q. Healy (Mark), seven loving grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Steven, Jacqueline, Meghan, Erin and Declan, and a sister Mildred F. Quinn. He was the brother of the late Hugh, James, and Paul Quinn.
Visitation Friday, 3 – 7 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Funeral Saturday at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
