

SCITUATE - SHOREN, Richard, 71, of Hope Furnace Rd., died Friday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the companion of Geraldine R. "Gerry" (St. John) Shallcross of Rehoboth, and the husband of the late Roberta B. (Sikonski) Shoren. Born in North Providence, a son of the late Henry D. and Dora (Jackson) Shoren Sr., he had lived in Hope for the past 22 years. Mr. Shoren had been a Training Technician for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Retired Federal Employees Association. He was a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. He was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling and vacationing on cruise ships. A brother Henry D. Shoren, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Warren; a sister Dorothy I. Serrecchia of Cranston, as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren also survive him. He was the brother of the late Edward A. Shoren. His funeral will be Monday at 10am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Services at 11am in the Columbarium Chapel at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Sunday 2-6pm.
