

Born in Providence, he was a son of Grace A. (Vicario) Silvestri and the late Richard G. Silvestri; brother of Carol- Ann Silvestri, Paul Silvestri and his wife Dana; uncle of David and Lillian Saran and Giacomo Silvestri; nephew of John and Virginia Silvestri, Robert and Patricia Silvestri and the late Thomas Silvestri, Dona Silvestri, Anthony Vicario and Linda Vicario; grandson of the late Anthony and Anna (Pietrantonio) Vicario and Giacomo “Jack” and Clara (Tomasso) Silvestri.
Prior to Rich’s illness, he worked as a district manager for Domino’s Pizza. He also was the owner of the 1017 Deli. His hobbies included painting, fishing, and trying new recipes. He always looked forward to spending time with his family and friends. His favorite holidays were the 4th of July and Christmas Eve. As an avid Patriots fan, he was thrilled to see them win Super Bowl 51.
To all who knew him, Rich will always be remembered for having a big heart, unique sense of humor, listening ear and giving someone a chance. He loved his family dearly and will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held Friday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Edward Food and Wellness Center, 1001 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02904.
