

North ProvidenceRichard D. Votta, 56, of North Providence, died Monday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. He was the former husband of the late Carol M. (Arruda) Votta. Born in Providence, a son of Gladys F. (Gaynor) Votta of North Providence and the late Cosmo A. Votta, he lived in Providence for many years, in Houston, Texas for several years, before returning to North Providence one year ago. Richard was a bricklayer for various masonry companies his entire life. Beside his mother Gladys, he leaves a son, Richard D. Votta, Jr. of Providence; two brothers, Donald E. Votta of Missouri, Kenneth A. Votta of Florida; a grandson, Devin A. Votta, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 8 pm.
