

Warwick Robert M. Brunelle, 85, of Warwick, died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at home. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (Blair) Brunelle. They were married for sixty-eight years. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Theodore and Mary (Poulin) Brunelle. Mr. Brunelle served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WW II and served aboard the USS Glennon in the Atlantic and South Pacific. In 1944, Torpedoman Mate Brunelle was aboard the Glennon when it was sunk off the coast of France, during the Invasion of Normandy. In his civilian career, Bob was the Chief Pilot and Aviation Department Manager for Textron, for twenty two years, retiring in 1986, flying personnel all over the United States. He was an avid flyer, and he and his wife Fran enjoyed flying their own plane together long into retirement. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert L. Brunelle and Victor R. Brunelle; a sister, Florence Kafalas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Arthur Brunelle and Margaret Lessard. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, 6 - 8 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt 117) Warwick, to which relatives and friends are invited. The funeral and burial will be private.
