

Robert J. Evans, 52, passed away on April 22, 2015. Born in Cranston, RI, he was a son of the late Billy Ray Sr. and Marion I. (Macomber) Evans. He was the beloved father of Billy R. Evans, Kyle R. Evans and Austin J. Evans; and brother of Billy Ray Evans Jr., Vicki L. Gavin and the late Donald Evans. He also leaves his beloved dog, Brutus.
He was a lifelong resident of Providence and he graduated from Hope High School in 1980. Soon after he joined the US Air Force where he served in Korea during a time of peace. At home, he was a jack of all trades, with his last occupation being a driver for Willy's Towing. Bob took on a tough battle with esophageal cancer in 2013. Being a diehard Pats and Sox fan, he witnessed the Patriots win all four Super Bowls, and even attended Game 1 of the 2013 World Series at Fenway Park. His life and memories will be forever cherished.
Visitation will be held Thursday 5-7 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
