

Robert Salvatore Iacobelli, 91, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family January 2, 2022. He was the son of the late Nunzio and Elizabeth (Centracchio) Iacobelli; beloved husband of Gloria (Imondi) Iacobelli; loving father of Karen Fortunati; cherished grandfather of Meghan Desmarais and her husband Joseph, and Benjamin Fortunati and his wife Krystal; great-grandfather of Elysia, Grayson, Quinton, and Cameron; brother in law of Carole Imondi, Beverly Zarlenga and her husband Pat, and the late Robert Imondi; and uncle of Andrew and Brian Zarlenga.
Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. After serving, he went on to a career with his dad as a barber for many years. His passion for music started in high school which continued throughout his life. He traveled throughout New England as a musician, playing the bass guitar with the Ralph Stuart Orchestra and many other well-known musicians. He was the proprietor of S&B dry cleaners in Seekonk, Massachusetts for 12 years. In 1989, Bob and his wife Gloria moved to Jensen Beach, Florida where he continued his career as a barber and musician for 30 years. They had many cherished memories with family and friends. In 2019, his love for his family brought him back to retire in RI, where he continued to be a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Bob will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered by all those lives he touched, over 91 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St, Johnston. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Burial will be held at a later date.
