Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward Jacques and Evelyn (Parkinson) Jacques.
Bob was a graduate of La Salle Academy in Providence and also attended a vocational school to study drafting. Before beginning his career with the State of Rhode Island, Bob pursued his education and training in preparation for his working life. He was employed by the State of Rhode Island for over 20 years, where he played an important role in printing legislative documents for the General Assembly.
Outside of work, Bob loved camping and, most of all, spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed gathering around the campfire, a tradition that suited his larger-than-life personality. Bob took pride in building the biggest campfire around, making sure it was one that all the surrounding campsites could see.
These moments spent with family and the memories made around those fires will be cherished for years to come. Bob had the biggest heart, a strong will, and a personality that was truly one of a kind. He was a special person who brought his own unique spirit to the lives of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
He was the father of Eric Jacques. He was the brother of Eddie Jacques and his wife, Julie, and Ralph Jacques and his wife, Nancy, both of Sarasota, Florida; Patye (Jacques) Papitto of Johnston, Rhode Island, and her late husband, Anthony; Jackie (Jacques ) Lanphear of Stonington, Connecticut, and her partner, Bob; Libby (Jacques) Hoffman and her husband, Bill, of Warwick, Rhode Island; and Janet (Jacques) Taylor and her husband, Tim, of West Warwick, Rhode Island. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was the former husband of Debra Jacques.
His funeral and services are pending.
