

Deacon Robert G. MacLure, age 92, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. (Treacy) MacLure, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage for 70 years.
Born in Woonsocket, Robert was the son of the late Albert and Rosilda (Cartier) MacLure.
A man of deep faith, compassion, and service, he dedicated much of his life to both his Church and his community. Ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 1979, Deacon MacLure faithfully served at St. Patrick Church in Providence for more than 30 years, ministering to countless parishioners through baptisms and other pastoral duties. He also served as a Deacon at the Rhode Island Training School for Boys for over 20 years and ministered to residents of Hallworth House Nursing Home for more than a decade, bringing comfort, guidance, and God's love to those entrusted to his care.
Robert also proudly served his country and state through a distinguished 35-year career with the Rhode Island Air National Guard, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Stationed at the Armory of Mounted Commands, he worked closely with the Adjutant General's Office and earned the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him. Following his military career, he was employed by Metropolitan Insurance in Warwick for several years.
Beyond his many accomplishments, Robert embraced life with a joyful spirit and a love for simple pleasures. He had a passion for photography and was a professional candid wedding photographer, capturing cherished moments and memories for countless families. He also enjoyed fishing and was a devoted New England Patriots fan. Above all else, however, Robert's greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by; his loving sons, Bruce MacLure and his partner, Denise Daigle; Kenneth MacLure and his wife, Donna; and John MacLure and his wife, Cheryl; cherished grandchildren, Erin MacLure; Alyre MacLure and his wife Gina; Paige Arsenault and her husband, Danny; and Zachary MacLure; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Gavin, Evita, Lex, Adelyn, and Harper Kenney. He was the brother of the late Norman MacLure.
As he enters eternal rest, his family takes comfort knowing that the love, guidance, and faith he shared throughout his life remain a lasting gift to all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
