

Robert Thomas Quinn, Sr., 89, of Roosevelt St., Providence, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Joan ( Ellinwood ) Quinn, they had been married for 56 years.
Born in Cambridge, MA he was the son of the late John Joseph and Margaret (Connolly) Quinn.
Mr. Quinn served his country proudly in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. Doris and Robert were daily communicants of St. Anthony’s Parish and were members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He was a member of the Hiberians and the Knights of Columbus. Robert worked as an operator for the Narragansett Bay Commission for 25 years retiring in 1993.
Mr. Quinn is survived by his children, Robert T. Quinn, Jr. and his wife Paulette of Providence, John J. Quinn of Smithfield, Steven P. Quinn of Johnston, Daniel S. Quinn and his wife Lori of Johnston, Colleen Quinn of Providence, his grandchildren, Tara, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Kyle, John, Bethany, Timothy, his great grandchildren, Vega, Annina, Raja, Estelle, Austin, Sophia, Hannah, Lyla and Seth. He was father of the late William Quinn. He also leaves his loyal companion Buddy his dog.
Per Bishop Tobin, all Mass of Christian Burials are suspended until further notice. Regrettably, Mr. Quinn's mass has been canceled and the Funeral Service at the funeral home is family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to local animal shelters.
