Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, he was a 1965 graduate of Cranston High School East. He was the devoted life partner of the late Robin Summerer, with whom he shared twenty years of love, laughter, and companionship until her passing in 2005.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, enlisting on January 5, 1966. As a member of the 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, he served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 before being honorably discharged on January 4, 1968. Though humble about his service, it remained one of his greatest sources of pride throughout his life.
Following his military service, Ronald built a career as a house painter in the construction industry, known for his steady work ethic and quiet reliability.
A man of few words but deep passions, Ronald found joy in the simple things: days at the beach, tending to his garden, cheering on his beloved New York Yankees, and caring for the animals he adored. His English Bulldog, Floyd, was his loyal companion for twelve cherished years.
In keeping with Ronald’s wishes, there will be a Committal Service on Monday, May 4th at 12:00 PM at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI.
