

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Roland and Louise(Tougas) Dumont.
Before retiring, Ron worked for more than 40 years as a bindery manager in the printing industry, the majority of that time was at H.T. Woods.
In his spare time, he enjoyed doing home improvement projects, building great fires, a good prank, sailing, fishing, and anything to do with the ocean. He also loved spending time at the family’s summer home in Narragansett. He was a great handyman with an impressive collection of tools and could fix anything that needed it. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He spent as much time as possible with them doing projects, fixing engines, stacking wood and especially going on his boat. He had a special bond with each of them.
He leaves his three children Lorand Spych and her husband Gabriel of Glocester, Rosemary Dumont and her husband Nathan of Warwick, and Michelle DaSilva and her husband Jeffrey of Johnston. Three siblings John Dumont and his wife Sharon of Clifton, TN, Alan Dumont of Linden,TN, and Michael and his wife Kathy of Linden,TN. Eight grandchildren Jack, Troy, and Jocelyn Spych, Jacoby and Oliver Dumont, Cristiano, Max, and Madalena DaSilva. In addition, he leaves a large extended family of sisters and brothers in law and many nieces and nephews that he cared for deeply.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2024 from 11:00-12:30 pm in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 pm in St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
