Rosalie Catherine Pierno

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (D’Amico) Altruda.

Rosalie had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her home was a place where family and friends naturally gathered, always greeted with a warm smile, a fresh pot of coffee, and something delicious from her kitchen. She loved to cook and bake, and nothing brought her greater joy than sharing her homemade meals and treats with those she loved.

She treasured her many close friendships and truly enjoyed spending time with the people who meant the most to her. Whether shopping for something special, hosting family and friends, or simply sitting around the table with a cup of coffee and good conversation, Rosalie embraced life’s simple pleasures with grace and warmth.

Family was the center of Rosalie’s world. She especially adored spending time with her four great-grandsons, who brought endless happiness to her later years. Her love for her family was unwavering, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.

Rosalie also took great pride in her appearance. She was always beautifully dressed, with her hair perfectly styled, reflecting the elegance and dignity she carried throughout her life.

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her welcoming home, her delicious cooking, her impeccable style, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the traditions, recipes, laughter, and love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Rosalie’s life was one well lived, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

She was the beloved mother of Donna Annaldo and her husband Donald and Joseph A. Pierno, Sr. and his wife Julia; cherished grandmother of Nicholas Annaldo (Andrea), Vanessa Negris (Gian, Sr.), Jessica Moniz (David) and the late Joseph A. Pierno, Jr. and great grandmother of Stephen and Domenic Annaldo and Gian, Jr. and Carlo Negris. She was also the sister of the late Joseph (Rose), Vincent (Alice), Mario (Emilia) and Guido (Mary) Altruda.

Her visitation and funeral will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. Anthony's Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the church at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
