Rose Mary Norton

Rose M. Norton, 94, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, March 14, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, in Providence. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Norton.Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Celesta (Iannuzzi) Barricelli.She worked at various jobs before retiring from the Providence Gas Company, in 1991.Rose’s life was defined by her devotion and love for her family and generosity to all. Sunday dinners will be sadly missed. "And how!"She is survived by her three loving daughters, Janice A. Desjarlais (Dennis) of North Providence, Colleen M. Pedchenko (William) of Providence, and Deborah R. Abbatematteo, of North Providence; cherished grandmother of, Kristi Kasanovich, Staci Chadwick, Michelle Mousseau, William Pedchenko, III, Paul Pedchenko, Elizabeth Pedchenko, Andrew Pedchenko, and Karen Abbatematteo, and their spouses. Rose was equally proud of her fourteen great grandchildren. She was the sister of Vincent Barricelli, of Cumberland, and the late Norman, Alfred, Nicholas, and Domenic Barricelli, Grace Petrone, Jeannette Curci, Yolanda Barricelli, and Antonetta Abbott.Rose’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
