Rose B. (Piccirilli) Simeone, 88, passed away February 1, 2020.

She was the daughter of the late Frank Carlo Sr. and Beatrice (Barletta) Piccirilli; wife of the late Frank Simeone Jr.; mother of Donna R. Trainor and her husband Thomas, Frank Simeone III and his wife Deborah, Thomas P. Simeone and his wife Julie, Robert J. Simeone and his wife Ann, Linda A. Simeone and her husband James Ferreira, and Matthew J. Simeone and his wife Sarah; sister of the late Frank C. Piccirilli Jr. and William Piccirilli; grandmother of 9 and 2 great-grandchildren.

Rose expressed her deep love and caring for her family and friends every day, through her sense of humor, and the way she made family events, celebrations, or simple gatherings, so much fun. She was an avid cook, always excited to learn new techniques and cuisines. Every day meals, Christmas Eve dinners, and even simple picnics were special and delicious, but she made them seem effortless.

Rose was a member of the Class of 1952 of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. Her career as a nurse mirrored her day to day life, as she cared for countless new mothers in the recovery room of Women and Infants Hospital. Her beautiful smile, which will be greatly missed by all, once graced the cover of a hospital pamphlet.

She was married to Frank for almost 60 years. In addition to raising their 6 children, they built Frank’s business, pursued many remodeling projects together, and finally built their “dream” house. They had many interests in common but especially enjoyed travel, Frank Sinatra, and opera.

She was the grandmother of Lucy Trainor and husband Erich Roggenbuck; Maria Carleen and her husband Andrew Carleen; Suzanne Trainor; Holly Gagnon; Andrew Gagnon; Sophia Simeone; Joseph Simeone; Luca Simeone; and Nicolas Simeone. Her grandchildren enjoyed many sleepovers at Grandma’s house, where they were indulged with bubble baths and blueberry pancakes for breakfast. In her later years, she was very interested in the lives of her grandchildren, and never failed to ask about their families, friends, careers, and interests. She was loving, encouraging, and shared many wonderful stories.

She eagerly looked forward to visits with her two great-grandchildren, and enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of them between visits.

Visitation will be held Friday, 5-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 a.m., celebrated by her nephew Monsignor Ronald P. Simeone, in St. Anthony Church, 128 Greene Street, Woonsocket. Entombment will follow in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross at www.redcross.org/donate.
