Ruth N. Alden

Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Chait) Perles, she grew up in Boston and lived in Framingham for many years before moving to Providence.

While raising her children she helped run the family business Charles Alden Music Company Wholesale Distributors. She loved traveling and flying in small planes with her husband. She also enjoyed painting and playing the violin. She will be remembered by her children as a gentle, kind, caring and loving mother.

She is survived by four children, Sherry Roberts and her husband Dennis J. Roberts II of Providence, Kenneth Alden and his wife Sarah of Middleboro, Debra Alden Dangoia and her husband Robert Dangoia of Jacksonville, FL, Randal Alden and his wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Caroline, Douglas, Ian and Emily and two great-grandchildren, Ilyena and Kaylee. She was the sister of the late Benjamin and Joseph Perles.

Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, her funeral service and burial will be private. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
