
GRANOFF, SAMUEL, 95, passed away at home, peacefully, on August 21st after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Frances (Taber) Granoff. Born in Providence, Samuel was the second eldest child of the late Louis and Edith (Samdperil) Granoff. Samuel is also survived by his loving children; his daughter Merle G. Shaer, and son Loren, his grandchildren; Elana K. Shaer and Marc P. Shaer, his sister Beverly Satloff, his brother Leonard, and numerous nephews. Samuel was the brother of the late George Sidney and father-in-law of the late William H. Shaer. For five decades, Samuel was a principal of S. Granoff Mfg., an innovator in the design and production of yarns and textiles. Thereafter, he was proud to work for Granoff Associates. Samuel served his country in WWII with a rank of sergeant. He saw action in the European Theatre and in North Africa with the 389th Bomber Squadron. Upon return from the service Samuel met, courted and married the young and beautiful Frances Taber. Samuel set high standards and he lead by example. Samuel was highly intelligent, devoted and courageous to the very end. Special thanks to Samuel’s devoted caregivers Lucy, Melanie, Walter, Mae, Barry, Marco and Michelle. Samuel will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 25th at 1:00 PM at Temple Beth El, 70 Orchard Ave., Providence with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Minyan Fund at Temple Beth El. Shiva will be Private.
