

Sarah T. (Conaty) DiSano, age 93, of Johnston, a beloved matriarch and a steadfast pillar of her family departed this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Providence, she was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Maguire) Conaty.
She was the loving mother of Kathleen A. Delfino and her husband Carlo, Carl A. DiSano and his wife Johanna and the late Thomas DiSano. Cherished grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 9 and great-great-grandmother of 1.
Sarah’s career spanned for 37 years as a clerk and computer operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, where she made many lifelong friends. Sarah personified extreme kindness and humility.
She was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, her children were the light of her life. There was a warmth to her nurturing nature, always ensuring that no guest left her home without being well-fed. Her home was always the nucleus for her family.
Sarah enjoyed cooking and baking her famous Italian cookies that were a welcomed delight to all that had the pleasure of tasting them. She prepared thousands of dinners over the years, all for the deep-rooted love she exhibited for her family. She also enjoyed spinning a slot machine and her winning streak was unbeatable. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of resilience, hard work, and unfathomable love for her family.
Sarah is now reunited with her deceased family members, including her son, Thomas, and her siblings, Alice McWeeney, Mary D’Aquila, and brother, Thomas Conaty Jr. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the lessons she imparted and the love she bestowed will resonantly echo through the hearts of those she cherished.
In her passing we celebrate a life beautifully lived, filled with warmth, love, and unwavering dedication to her family’s future. Sarah T. DiSano leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 8:45 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Road, Johnston. Graveside burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
