OBITUARY
Sharon P. Lima
January 5, 1962 – October 17, 2013
Sharon Lima passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday at Hospice from an extended battle with Breast cancer. She was the daughter of Manuel "Luke" Lima and Lillian Marie (Paulo) Lima. Miss Lima is survived by her three sisters, Sandra Lima, Connie Lima and Tina Viera and her three brothers Joseph Lima, Tom Lima and John Lima. Her sister-in laws Carolyn Lima, Ingrid Lima and Ladetta Lima. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Keriah Lima, Imani Lima, Elijah Lima, Colette Lima, Christopher Sanders, Deonte Fields, John M. Lima Jr, Taylor Lima, John J. Lima, Cheyneika Lima, Tillman Lima, Olivia Lima, Rahsun Lima and grand nieces & nephews Arianna Lima, Janarri Lima, Joseph Garcia, Robert R Frazier Jr, Anthony Hardiman and she leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Miss Lima was born in Providence and raised in Warwick. She was a life long resident of Rhode Island and graduated from Toll Gate High school in Warwick where she made many lasting friendships. Sharon went on to work high end retail sales management for many years. Having always had a love for helping friends and family look their best she started her own business, owning and operating a beauty salon in Providence. Her later years were spent as a licensed Real Estate broker in Rhode Island. She spent her last years in Maine attending college to become a photographer due to her love of nature and beauty, she enjoyed capturing images on film. Sharon was a free spirit who loved nature, life and her family. She was one to always give freely of herself to those in need. Her charity started at home but did not end there. She shared her warmth, love and infectious smile with everyone she touched. A truly beautiful person inside and out, Sharon wore life like a loose garment ready for the next opportunity to give of herself to bring a smile to someone's face. In her final years in Maine she spent time going to school, enjoying nature and surrounded by the love of a great family. She was a blessed person who also blessed all those around her with her love. She will be forever in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday evening 4-6 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.

I did not hear till just now. The last time Sharon and I spoke was when she was raising funds for her breast cancer and we chatted online. We promised each other we would catch up on our lives....but I see that wont happen. I am so sorry to hear of your passing. RIP Sharon...you were beautiful from the time we were in Kindergarten. For three years, Sharon was a very close and dear friend to me, my two daughters, and to my entire family. Everyone that Sharon met always commented on what a warm and giving person she was, always thinking of others first before her own needs. Her generosity of friendship and spirit was remarkable. Her extensive knowledge and teaching of so many old fashioned ideals, social mores (obviously learned from a wonderful upbringing), crafts, literature, and approaches to health and wellness were all second to none. Sharon was always learning, researching, and sharing. We all loved her witty Irish humor. Sharon was exotically beautiful (people in Maine didn't know what to make of her), one of a kind, and never to be forgotten.
I had the good fortune to spend one last happy month on an island with her with my children, before her health declined. She wanted to go out on her own terms, without extensive medical treatment, and for that we cannot fault her.
We will all miss you Sharon!

To The Lima Family,
It is a sad time in Norwood when one of the neighborhood children has left us as an adult and has not had a chance to live out their life. It does not seem that long ago that you were all playing together with the other children of the neighborhood. Our thoughts are with each and everyone of you--remember the good times.

I had the good fortune of knowing this lovely woman throughout our careers in retail many years ago. She was as beautiful on the inside as on the ouside.Sharon was always ready to laugh and have some fun but ready to pitch in and get to work when she was needed. Truly, a special soul...I can only imagine how much you will miss her. God Bless you all & know that she is with the Lord, free from pain and at peace.

I had the blessing meeting Sharon 11 yrs ago when my kids & I moved next door to her. She was the neighborhood advacate as she made us become a community. She loved to share her heart to everyone ,even her porch to a homeless cat she named Tinkerbell. If she wasn't passing out her own grown tomatoes , or her wild bird food ,she would be sharing a piece of her time to chat. She was an awesome woman to have as a neighbor& friend. Sharon gave My kids & I something more dear to her heart. It was knowing her family. I can see why she was so amazing.
