Shirley M. Fitzgerald

Shirley M. (Lewis) Fitzgerald, age 77 of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2013 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late James R. Fitzgerald who passed away 9 months ago. They were married for over 62 years. Born in Alton, IL she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mildred (Douglass) Lewis. Before retirement, Mrs. Fitzgerald was a CNA. She was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family. She was the loving mother of James and Charles Fitzgerald, Brenda DeMasi all of Providence, Geraldine O'Donnell, Alice Fitzgerald both of Johnston and Dorothy Beauvais of FL. She was the sister of Lonnie, Ronnie and Jerry Lewis, Bonnie Patton, Betty Price and Norma Jean Elliot all of IL. Grandmother of 17, great-grandmother of 15. She was also the sister of the late Bobby Lewis, Patricia Wilks, Sherry Lynn Cope and the late Darlene Cope. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 8:30 am from The Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 331 Smith St., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Cross Church in Providence. Interment will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
