Warwick - Pointek, Shirley E. ( Ayers), 83, formerly Brentwood Ave, died Monday at Riverview Healthcare Community in Coventry. She was the wife of Chester J. Pointek for 35 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Frances ( McLaren) Ayers. Shirley was a bookkeeper for Beck Beauty Supply in Warwick for 15 years and later worked as a secretary at Foster Parents Plan until she retired in 1990. Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons, William Underwood of West Warwick, Robert L. Underwood of Warwick, a daughter, Debra Vano of Warwick, two sisters, Frances Smith of Warwick and Thelma Paquin of North Providence, three grandchildren and one great grandson. She was the sister of the late Everett Ayers, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:15am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Donations to Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906, in her memory would be appreciated.
