

Stanley D. Banach, Jr., 67, of Pawtucket, passed away on March 1, 2017. He was the son of the late Stanley D. Sr. and Marie (Tate) Banach. Stanley was a Green Beret, serving in the Army during three tours in Viet Nam, between September 1967 to October 1975. Upon his return, Stanley became an employee of the United States Postal Service, where he worked until his retirement.He was the President of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) at the Providence turnkey branch. Stanley was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Providence College Friars. He enjoyed being with his son and grandsons, teaching and spending quality times with them. Ball games were a top priority, no matter the sport as well as boating and fishing.Stanley is survived by a son, Stanley D. Banach, III, his sisters, Nancy Carey of Alabama, Paula Morelli of Cocoa, FL, and Tinamarie Strazzullo of Lakeland, FL, his brother, Kevin Banach, three grandchildren, Stanley D. Banach, IV, Alexander Banach, and Robert N. Vincent, his former wife, Inez Banach and many nieces and nephews.. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Feuti. He will be dearly missed by many.Stanley's family will receive guests from 10 am - 12 noon on Friday, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence followed by burial and military honors in the Rhode Island Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island.
