Thelma B. Trudelle

North Kingstown Thelma B. Trudelle, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, July 3, 2017, at Scalabrini Villa Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Ernest L. Trudelle and the late Edward G. Souza.Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Manuel B. and Evangelina (Lawrence) Correia, she lived in Cranston for many years. Thelma worked as a teacher aide for the Providence Head Start Program for several years. She was a longtime and faithful communicant of Saint Patrick Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the parish choir, and volunteer at Mary House. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Rhode Island Hospital, and was an associate member of the Sisters of Mercy.She leaves a daughter, Taffy Simone Colvin and her husband Lawrence; two sons, Edward T. "Ted" Souza and his wife Rose, and John A. Souza; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Alfred, Frank and Leo Correia. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed. The funeral and visitation will be held Saturday morning, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence.
