Therese Marie Gendreau

Therese M. Gendreau (Theriault) 85, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, in Providence. She was the wife of the late Dr. Alvin G. Gendreau.Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Eugenie (Charette) Theriault.Prior to retirement, she was a registered nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital in Providence for several years.Mrs. Gendreau taught first aid and was a troop assistant for the Girl Scouts, and previously volunteered at Saint Patrick's Church. She enjoyed traveling to Canada, New Hampshire, and Vermont to spend time with family and friends.She leaves her seven loving children, Dorice A. Bucci (Robert), Robert G. Gendreau (Roseann), Walter R. Gendreau (Kelli), Michelle M. Ogilvie (George), David E. Gendreau (Lisa), Anne Marie T. Mikoni (Joseph), Jeannine M. Vallesi ( Michael); fourteen grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Bucci, David, Phillip, Gregory, Nicholas, Tyler, Matthew, Patrick, and Menagh Gendreau, Nicole and Michelle Mikoni, and Anthony and Gianna Vallesi; and her brother Raymond Theriault. She was the mother of the late Normand L. Gendreau and sister of the late, Bertrand J., John J., Lucien J., and Roger J. Theriault, Yvonne C. Langlois, Simonne M. Theriault, Noella Ouellette, and Jeanne M. Griffin.Therese's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Flowers are welcome and donations may also be made in her memory to a favorite charity of choice.
