Thomas J. Beard, Jr

Thomas J. Beard, Jr. age 75, of Mount View Ave, passed away on October 14, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Catherine H. (Walsh) Beard. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Anna L. (Fitzpatrick) Beard. Before retirement, Mr. Beard was employed as a Electro Jewelry Plater and in later years was a Litigation Paralegal. He was a noted WPRO caller "Tom from North Kingstown" , an avid hockey and baseball player. Most of all was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family. Besides his wife of over 46 years, he leaves a son Brian T. and wife Melissa Beard of North Kingstown, a daughter Karen A. and husband Wayne Littlefield of Exeter RI, grandfather of Kayla and Patrick Littlefield, Riley and Brayden Beard. He was the brother of Congressman Edward P. Beard of Warwick and John Beard of Providence. He was the father of the late Nancy C. Beard and brother of the late Ann Beard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am in St. Francis de Sales Church 381 School St., North Kingstown. Interment with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation- Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm in The Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick.
