
Thomas F. Cappelli, Sr., 81, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Blais) Cappelli. Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Martin and Mary (Rampone) Cappelli. Thomas was a retired schoolteacher/principal for the Town of Johnston. He was also a retired banquet waiter/Maitre D'. He was an avid baseball fan and served as both a coach and umpire for various Johnston baseball teams. He was a beloved and dedicated husband, father and grandfather and played an active role in the upbringing of his grandsons' Jarrod and Tyler. In his retirement he volunteered at the Coventry Senior Center and at St. John and Paul's church. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Thomas F. Cappelli, Jr., of Coventry, Christine Cappelli, of West Warwick, Deanna Cimaglia, of Coventry, Michael Cappelli, of Providence, Edward Cappelli, of South Attleboro, MA, Michelle Birmingham and Janine Andrews, both of Coventry; five grandsons, and one great grandchild. He was the father of the late Mark Cappelli. Funeral services and burial are private. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Russell J.
