

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Benjamin Paul and Frances ( Baxter ) Holmes.
Tom worked in the healthcare industry for his entire career starting with VNA of Rhode Island then to The Miriam Hospital for over 35 years and retiring in 2019 from Health & Hospice of Nursing Placement.
Tom had a lot of passions in his life most notably working on his antique cars, love of Motown music, karaoke, and was an incredibly talented craftsman. He was an amazing father and papa. Nothing brought more joy to him than spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Doreen, Tom leaves his children, Jenn Conca and her husband Alan of Cranston, RI, April Luiz of Beaverdam, VA, Thomas W. Holmes, Jr. of Cranston, RI, his grandchildren, Brooke Adams, Lorenzo Verdelotti, Gianni Verdelotti, Olivia Conca, Nathan Conca, Zoey Holmes, Penelope Holmes and his great granddaughter Adalynn Adams. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Holmes and her partner, Peggy Waggoner, of Milton, FL, Carol Boudreau and her husband Al, of Johnston, Steven Holmes and his wife Rachel of Bayville, NJ, Fran Rossi and her husband Edward of Johnston, RI and Maureen Baxter of Smithfield, RI. Tom was brother of the late Paula Jahnz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday March 8, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call the morning of the Mass from 9:00-10:30 am in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
