

Thomas J. Pare, 90, of Rosemere Drive, who worked for the Rhode Island Department of Health for 30 years before retiring in 1988, died Thursday, August 18, at home surrounded by his family. Tom was the husband of his beloved Alice (Collins) Pare, to whom he was married for 63 years. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Alice (Fahey) Pare. Tom was a proud World War II Navy veteran. Besides his wife he leaves his sons; Mark S. Pare, his wife Emily of Plainville, MA; John F. Pare, his wife Teresa of Temple TX; and Michael J. Pare and his wife, Terri of North Providence. Tom was also the father of Kevin T. Pare, who passed away in 2009. He was also pre-deceased by his brother Walter J. Pare Jr., of Providence, and his sisters Eileen (Pare) Roman, of Richardson, TX, and Roberta (Pare) Lyons, of North Providence. Tom was the proud grandfather of Jennifer, Stephen, Thomas, Meghan, Joseph, Elizabeth, Amanda, Carlene, and James. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Saint Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery Pawtucket. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
