Thomas James Toomey

Thomas J. Toomey, 74, of Providence, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the husband of Louise (Antaya) Toomey. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles T. and Margaret (Graham) Toomey. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Theresa Fox of Providence and Thomas Toomey of Seattle, WA. He was the grandfather of Owen and Nola Fox and the brother of Charles Toomey of North Dartmouth, MA, Dr. Edward Toomey, and Margaret (Toomey) Dolan, both of Concord, MA. Tom retired 14 years ago and devoted himself singularly to caring for his wife after her stroke. He will be sorely missed. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY morning, February 12, 2015, from 8:00 – 9:15 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am, in the St. Thomas Aquinas Priory Chapel, on the campus of Providence College.
